Picture Phonics
Grades K - 1

box box Terrific pictures interest and motivate children as they work on numerous phonics activities developed to help young prereaders master the association between letters and the sounds they represent. Assorted activities and multiple levels of difficulty are offered in each of the following areas:
Beginning Consonants, Ending Consonants, Beginning and Ending Blends and Digraphs, Short Vowels, and Long Vowels. Additional activities include Preschool Picture Play; Vowels: Long, Short, and Silent; and a Cumulative Phonics Review.

Program Options: Program options allow the teacher to set the student menu page to display 4 activity choices in one of the following areas... Beginning Consonants, Ending Consonants, Beginning Blends and Digraphs, Ending Blends and Digraphs, Short Vowels, or Long Vowels. Within any of these phonics focus areas, the teacher can select any individual letters to include or exclude for the current lesson. For younger children, ages 2-3, who are not yet ready for those main phonics activities, the teacher or parent may select Preschool Picture Play. Once a child has mastered symbol/sound association for all categories, select the option for Cumulative Phonics Review (Level 1, 2, or 3) where children will hear a word, and provide the beginning, medial, and ending letters to spell the word.

Options and Easy Track: Set activity options for the whole class all at once or for any selected group or individual.

Student Records: A summary screen provides feedback on student performance for the latest session, last 5 sessions, and cumulative work to date. Scores may be viewed as number right/total, as a percent, or as a letter grade. The child can view the summary as a star chart. Student records may be printed. Open Easy Track for more detailed records. Compare individual records to class, grade level, or selected group averages. Assess graphs of student growth for any specific learning objective. A variety of charts and graphs may be customized and are available for printing.

Easy Track is included with all Micrograms programs.
