Pondering Problems

Grades 2 - 5

Grades 2 - 5

The friendly characters in Pondering Problems make solving story problems easier as they structure student thinking by guiding students sequentially to each problem solving step. Hundreds of interesting math word problems set at Walnut Pond are available to sharpen analytical thinking skills. Program controls allow the teacher to determine the types and difficulty of problems to be presented, or to select Auto Advance to adjust problem difficulty based on student competency. The Audio Support feature allows students to hear any word they have difficulty reading. Each exercise consists of 3 problems. After each set, a summary chart illustrates how the student has performed in the categories of Finding Data, Choosing the Operation, and Solving the Problem. Hubert Hedgehog rewards students as they work.

**Program Options:** Choose problem types and number parameters at Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. Audio support may be turned ON or OFF. The calculator may be turned ON or OFF. An Auto Advance option is available to move students automatically to easier or more difficult problems based on their competency rating.

**Options and Easy Track:** Set activity options for the whole class all at once or for any selected group or individual.
